Our Story
Casa scundária da Quinta da Casaboa

Located just 40 km from Lisbon, in Runa, Torres Vedras, Quinta da Casaboa - a family estate held by the Ferreira dos Santos lineage for three generations, dedicated to the production and bottling of wine.

The commitment, passion and enthusiasm of a young, versatile team — spanning management, marketing, viticulture, and oenology — ensure that the wines of Quinta da Casaboa stand out as a reference in quality, innovation, and elegance.

Dating back to the 18th century, the 120-hectare Quinta da Casaboa was purchased in 1958 by João Ferreira dos Santos, a businessman based in Mozambique, and from that moment on, wine production became an integral part of the estate.

In its peaceful surroundings, João Ferreira dos Santos spent his leisure hours wandering the lush gardens and devoting himself to the winemaking he loved to follow.

That same passion and dedication persisted in the generations that followed, who understood the importance of reinvigorating the business to overcome modern-day challenges.

As vinhas e ao longe as hélices eólicas

Quinta da Casaboa produces its wines from grapes grown on its own 50 hectares planted with Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Roriz, Merlot, Alvarinho, Arinto and Viosinho.

Committed to agricultural best practices that foster ongoing improvement, the estate operates in harmony with nature, honoring natural production cycles through responsible and efficient resource management.

Situated in the Lisbon wine region, the vineyard grows on predominantly clay-limestone soils of basaltic origin, shaped by the Atlantic climate.

Inspired by its productive vigor and the ambition of its people, Quinta da Casaboa seeks to carry the quality achieved in Portugal out into the world, opening new markets to give greater purpose to its wines.
